This week is national Child Protection Week.

The child protection workforce plays an essential role in the Victorian community, working every day to help children, young people and their families and carers build stability with the support they need.

The contemporary role of working in child protection can be challenging but also very rewarding.

Working in collaboration with the child and family services sector and community, child protection helps keep children and young people safe, and families strong.

This Child Protection Week marks a significant milestone as we celebrate 20 years of the prestigious Victorian Protecting Children Awards.

The annual Victorian Protecting Children Awards recognise and celebrate individuals, teams and groups who demonstrate excellence in working with children, young people and families.

On Tuesday 5 September, 11 awards will be presented to people from across the child and family services sector, child protection, government and academic organisations, foster, kinship and permanent carers, volunteers and community members.

Stay tuned for more updates this week as we acknowledge the pivotal work and passion across child protection, the Victorian child and family services sector, and community.
