The ten members appointed to the new Our equal state reference group have been announced, as they met in person for the first time on 10 October 2024.

Establishment of the group is a key deliverable of the Victorian Government’s commitment to gender equality, Our equal state: Victoria’s gender equality strategy and action plan 2023-2027, which was released mid-2023.

Action 99 of the strategy commits to establishing a reference group to provide advice and support the overall implementation of Our equal state.

With over 112 applications received, an internal government panel convened to shortlist and recommend the final ten members. They bring broad perspectives and lived experience to their new roles.

The group will come together two to three times per year and provide advice to the Department on the implementation of Our equal state
