More multicultural events coming to Victoria next year

The Victorian Government is supporting more multicultural organisations across the state to deliver festivals and events that celebrate and share culture and promote community connections.
20 December 2023

With thanks to the Victorian Government’s flagship Multicultural Festivals and Events Program, more than 180 organisations have received funding to host events early next year.

The latest round of grants will support organisations to host events between January and March 2024, with the celebrations set to reach more than 220,000 Victorians.

Events will be held across the whole state, and will celebrate a wide range of cultural and religious festivals including Lunar New Year, Holi, Eid, St Patricks’ Day, Easter, Nowruz, Purim, Harmony Day, and many more.

Funded events include long running favourites as well as new events celebrating emerging communities, including:

  • Sri Durga Arts Cultural and Education Centre’s Multicultural Holi Festival
  • Drummond Street Service’s Carlton Harmony Day Festival
  • Latin Stories Australia’s Spanish Language Fiesta
  • The Bendigo Chinese Association’s Bendigo Easter Festival
  • St Paul’s Catholic Social Club’s Mirboo North Italian Festa
  • Kyabram Community and Learning Centre’s World Flavours Festival

Multicultural festivals and events strengthen multiculturalism, promote cross-cultural understanding, and truly capture Victoria’s diverse cultural landscape.

With such an exciting calendar of events happening across the state, we encourage all Victorians to get involved and explore what makes Victoria such a vibrant and inclusive place to live.
