The Victorian Government has released the Inclusive Victoria: state disability plan midway report. It covers the period from 2022 to 2024. The release of the report follows the International Day of People with Disability on 3 December.
The midway report shows how the government is tracking against the actions in Inclusive Victoria. Inclusive Victoria is our four-year state disability plan for 2022 to 2026. It sets out 175 actions all departments are taking to ensure our community is inclusive and accessible.
Overview
The midway report highlights that while progress has been made, there is still more to do to make things more equitable for people with disability. The report also shows how government departments are transforming the way they do things. They are doing this by implementing the plan’s 6 reform directions.
The report shows that:
- most of the actions in Inclusive Victoria are on track to be completed by the end of 2026.
- there are 8 actions still to be progressed and 28 that have been completed, and
- there are 11 new actions added.
The report also focuses on what the government will do over the next two years to complete the plan’s actions.
Outcomes framework
The government has also refreshed the outcomes framework for the state disability plan.
The purpose of this is to help us assess whether we are making progress in improving the lives of people with disability. The framework also now aligns more with Inclusive Victoria.
The Victorian Disability Advisory Council contributed to simplifying the indicators and the framework.
