Youth Fest is a month-long celebration in September that recognises the contributions and achievements of young people aged 12 to 25.
We’re delivering close to $220,000 in grants to support community groups, schools and local government to co-design, plan and deliver 110 events with young people to showcase their ideas and have their voices heard in the community.
The funded activities include a clothes swap at headspace Melton to encourage social inclusion, a youth-led free basketball and soccer competition at Malahang Reserve in West Heidelberg and an Arts Festival celebrating the diverse talents of young people with disabilities in the municipality of Hume.
Funding will also be used to stage the BendiGLOW Youth Fest, a one-day youth focused community festival, with activities such as skateboarding, artistic murals and screen printing, fostering creativity and encouraging physical activity.
Youth Fest 2024 will see young people develop and showcase their skills and talents, build relationships and expand their networks. We can’t wait for September!
