Wear it Purple Day is a day to support young LGBTIQA+ people by fostering a supportive, safe, empowering, and inclusive environment.
This year’s theme is ‘Your passion, your pride’. Whether you choose to go big and bold with a lilac suit, or keep it simple with purple accessories, every splash of purple is important to LGBTIQA+ communities.
Wear it Purple Day is not just about being stylish. It’s about uniting LGBTIQA+ youth and allies, participating in inclusivity, and showing young rainbow people that they are celebrated, respected and safe.
2 in 3 LGBTQIA+ young people still experience discrimination just for being who they are. Wear It Purple Day is a chance for workplaces, schools and communities to proudly stand with queer young people in the face of hatred and bigotry. Which as we’ve seen this year, is unfortunately on the rise.
Originally founded by students in response to global stories of teenagers taking their own lives due to bullying and harassment, Wear it Purple Day has become an international movement of love and support.
All rainbow young people have the right to be proud of who they are and feel respected and safe.
