The Victorian Government is proud to announce that as part of the $4.5 million Community Food Relief Program, 111 organisations will receive Local Grants up to $50,000 (or $75,000 for partnerships) to deliver food relief across the state.
These grants are vital in supporting Victorians who are facing food insecurity to access healthy and culturally appropriate food.
The Local Grants build on the Community Food Relief Program – Coordination Grants, announced on 24 October 2024, which provided up to $250,000 to four large scale food relief providers to strengthen partnerships and delivery of food relief across the state.
The Local Grants will make a tangible difference at the local level to Victorians experiencing cost-of-living pressures. This funding will get vital food relief to where it is needed most, tailored to meet the needs of local communities.
A diverse range of organisations have been funded, including First Nations-led organisations and projects tailored to multicultural communities.
The Victorian Government has invested over $56 million to combat food insecurity across Victoria since 2020, including $6 million this financial year.
