Applications now open to join Ballarat Saturation Model co-design group

Ballarat locals and organisations are invited to join a nation-first model to reduce gender-based violence in the region
13 January 2025

The Victorian Government announced the Ballarat Saturation Model in mid 2024, as an innovative new way to prevent gender-based violence in the Ballarat community. The Ballarat Saturation Model aims to strengthen prevention and early intervention measures in the places that people in Ballarat live, learn, work and play.

Since then, Respect Victoria, the state’s dedicated agency for the prevention of family violence and violence against women, has listened to and learned from hundreds of community members in Ballarat.

Now it’s time to take the next steps and work together to change the story on gendered violence.

Ballarat locals and organisations are invited to join the Victorian Government’s co-design group, which will help shape this nation-leading model.

The model will bring together a community-wide effort to prevent gender-based violence, engaging local businesses, services, schools and community groups.

Applicants must be:

  • living and/or working in Ballarat
  • committed to ending gender-based violence

Expressions of interest to join the co-design group are open until Friday 7 February.
