The nominations period has now closed for the 2024 Victorian Protecting Children Awards.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to submit nominations to acknowledge the people and teams who demonstrate excellence in working with children, young people and families.

These awards highlight the incredible effort and passion across the Victorian child and family services sector and community. 

The 2024 Victorian Protecting Children Awards has 12 categories that were open to nominations for those working across the child and family services sector, child protection, government and academic organisations, foster, kinship and permanent carers, volunteers and community members:

  • Robin Clark Leadership Award
  • Robin Clark Making a Difference Award
  • Minister's Award for Excellence in Protecting Children
  • Foster Carer Award
  • Kinship Carer Award
  • Engaging Kids in School Award 
  • Keeping At Risk Young People Safe Award 
  • CREATE Positive Impacts Award – managed by the CREATE Foundation
  • Child and Youth Empowerment Award – managed by the Commission for Children and Young People
  • The Walda Blow Aboriginal Children and Young People Award – managed by the Commission for Children and Young People
  • Leaving a Legacy Award – managed by the Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare
  • Chief Practitioner’s Award – open to Department of Families, Fairness and Housing staff only

Stay tuned as finalists will be announced in early August 2024, followed by the awarding of each winner at the 2024 Victorian Protecting Children Awards ceremony in early September, during Child Protection Week.
