2024 Victorian Protecting Children Awards – nominations extended!

You now have bonus time to acknowledge those who make a positive difference for children, young people and families in the Victorian community.

The nominations period for the 2024 Victorian Protecting Children Awards has now been extended until Wednesday 10 April 2024 at 5:00 pm.

These annual awards recognise and celebrate individuals, teams and groups who demonstrate excellence in working with children, young people and families.

Do you know someone who deserves recognition for their exceptional efforts towards helping keep children and young people safe, and families strong? Nominate them today!

There are 12 categories open to nominations for those working across the child and family services sector, child protection, government and academic organisations, foster, kinship and permanent carers, volunteers and community members.

Anyone can submit nominations for the below 2024 Victorian Protecting Children Awards:

  • Robin Clark Leadership Award
  • Robin Clark Making a Difference Award
  • Minister's Award for Excellence in Protecting Children
  • Foster Carer Award
  • Kinship Carer Award
  • Engaging Kids in School Award 
  • Keeping At Risk Young People Safe Award 
  • CREATE Positive Impacts Award – managed by the CREATE Foundation
  • Child and Youth Empowerment Award – managed by the Commission for Children and Young People
  • The Walda Blow Aboriginal Children and Young People Award – managed by the Commission for Children and Young People
  • Leaving a Legacy Award – managed by the Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare
  • Chief Practitioner’s Award – open to Department of Families Fairness and Housing staff only

These prestigious awards have been running for 21 years, showcasing the incredible effort and passion across the Victorian child and family services sector and community. Nominating people and teams for the awards is a great way to show much you value their dedication.

Finalists will be announced in early August 2024, followed by the awarding of each winner at the 2024 Victorian Protecting Children Awards ceremony in early September, during Child Protection Week.
